Irene grew up in southwest Wyoming and spent her many of her summers in England. She received inspiration from a British uncle who worked in London as an art teacher. By age fourteen, she was introduced to watercolor which has become her passion. In her high school years, she won one first prize and two second place finishes in the Wyoming State Art Competition. In 1993, Irene graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in biology. During her college years at Brandeis University and Arizona State, Irene studied fine arts in a variety of classes. In Arizona she focused on classes in Asian art history. She was featured in a number of university art shows, and helped design brochures for various museum and gallery openings. Her artwork is currently featured in numerous galleries around the Front Range. Irene resides in Northern Colorado, with her husband, a local veterinarian, and their three dogs. She is employed at a local university as a cancer research associate.
